Delightful Disneyland and Dodger Days

Posted on 11:00 by rendy orton
Disneyland. It's the happiest place on earth.
So we took our family vacation on the road to Anaheim, CA, for a couple days of fun.

Once again, this post will be mostly pictures. Hope you're ok with that.

Day 1: Disneyland
Breezy's first roller coaster ride. Like a champ!
Zonks' first roller coaster ride. Like a boss!
Meeting the big cheese.
With the first lady.
G-unit is an official Jedi padawan. Even defeated Darth Maul.
So excited to meet their favorite!
They tried so hard. Guess they're princesses, not kings.

Day 2: (Mostly) California Adventure
My #carouselfie shot. Yep, that's a thing now.

Day 3: Both parks
A Mickey beignet? Yes, please!
My sister's friend Jillian was super cool, and doesn't she look like Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones?
Cruella de Vil was a total crack-up.
Caught up with some friends in Downtown Disney.

Day 4: Huntington Beach and the Dodgers game
Our hardcore surfer dudes.
Great game! Dodgers beat the Giants in extra innings.

After such an action-packed adventure, I only have one question:
Is it too early to start planning our next family trip?

Angry Birds + Star Wars? I Blame Disney

Posted on 09:00 by rendy orton
I read this CNN article today, and I'm a bit dismayed by it.
Really?! A Star Wars version of Angry Birds?

Has Disney already started bastardizing the Star Wars brand, barely over a week into its ownership?

Or maybe I just don't like Angry Birds, and I'd rather they made a Star Wars version of Carcassonne and/or Settlers of Cataan instead...

Aw, who am I kidding?
It's got Star Wars in the title, so I'll at least give it a shot.

You win another round, Disney.
But some day I'll have will power... some day.

Disney Fashionista Drawings

Posted on 07:19 by rendy orton
A friend of mine posted these fashionista drawings of various Disney characters.

They were created by DeviantArt's viria13, and they're pretty well done, don't you think?
Yes, the artist recognized that Anastasia isn't a Disney movie, but thematically she fits right in.

Oh, and I didn't know who Tiana and Kida were, so I had to Google them.
Guess I need to watch some of the newer Disney movies, too, but I just prefer the classics!

Which one is your favorite in the drawings? Which outfit(s) would you wear, ladies?

Which Disney Prince are You?

Posted on 06:00 by rendy orton
Do you like taking online quizzes?

While I love trivia- and fact-based games, I don't take too many online quizzes.
I guess they just make me think of those magazines near the checkout of the grocery store.
Not exactly heady or intellectual stuff.

But sometimes they're fun.

Girls like to know which Disney princess they are. This is a fact of the universe.
I wouldn't have gone looking for this, but Emily sent me a link to this online quiz.
Apparently there's a corresponding male version of that quiz to see which Disney prince a guy is.
There are some pretty interesting Disney princes (and pseudo-princes) when you think about it.

Tarzan (not an official prince) is a beast. Sensitive and kind to all living creatures. Innocent and protective.
The Beast, aka Prince Adam, is literally a beast. But the opposite from Tarzan. Angry, violent, cynical.

Aladdin is a greedy criminal, albeit a good-hearted one. A sneaky orphan with a silver tongue.
Prince Charming is well, a prince. Not too chatty as I recall, but was a decent ballroom dancer.

Li Shang is by-the-book, almost to a fault. He's big and strong and keeps his long hair in a ponytail.
Flynn Rider lives without rules. More of a wily, dodgy type and lets his long hair flow freely.

Anyway... my results were:
I'm pretty happy with that description of Prince Phillip, and I hope it's a true description of me.
Brave, noble, willing to stand up for the ones I love. Softer side, and I do like a good smooch!

So guys, which prince are you? Or which one do you think your significant other is, ladies?

Also, if you gals want to find out, here is the quiz to see which Disney princess you are. Enjoy!
